About Learning to Fly

With a series of blogs so long I've lost count I've had five years of practice keeping up with a poetic blog. One that serves as a shoulder to cry on when it's needed most, a friend to laugh with on your best days, and a helpful hand in whatever way might be needed while you're here. Learning to Fly (a series of microstories, poems, and letters written with love) is the most permanent and beloved of these blogs, and I don't really see that changing anytime soon.

There are full length poems which can also be found in a multitude of other places. Some have been contest pieces or collaborations (they will be labeled as collaborations, but not as contest writes). Others have been diary entries of sorts, what I wished someone would tell me when I was feeling x, y, z and I hope that it will help others when they are feeling that same way.

Microstories are shorter, and more impersonal so that you can read them and interpret them as you need at the time. This was inspired by PostSecret and I Wrote This For You - two incredibly powerful and beautiful projects to look into sometime when you're bored if you don't know of them already.

Thank you for visiting and I hope you enjoy this adventure we are sharing.
