White Roses and Yellow Daisies

When we were young you gave me flower-shaped items in video games. Then you sent me pictures of your likes and hobbies forming things I find beautiful. As time went on we lived more moments together and you found flowers for me everywhere we went. Sometimes you'd place them in my hair or braid the stems into my jewelry and other times they'd get pressed between blank pages in my notebooks. I'm sure you assumed that the flowers died or got left behind but all of them live on in homes made of bleached pulp and beds of calligraphy patterned sheets, beneath blankets of creative thought, constantly reminded of you and the love we have for each other. When we were young you loved to tease me in harsh ways then give me a flower as you called me pretty. Then we grew up, you mellowed out and I blossomed in the garden of your heart.

Either Way

Someday you are going to look back on the time you spent each day visiting me and you will quote me fondly (if you managed to love me). You will tell our stories with a smile on your face - even if they are sad ones just because we wrote and lived them together. If for some reason I was not who you thought I would be, if I ever upset you so much that you actually have the audacity to hate me you will push people away from me. You will tell them how terrible I was until you manage to make them curious enough to find me or the pieces I left behind for you. Either way you have spent enough time with me that you will create new fans for me. And either way, I will remain a part of your memory that Time can never have.

To the Right

Every day you come home, drop your bag, kick off your shoes, get a drink of some kind, and find me. You open up the webbed mess of pixels, data, and mostly useless information, search for the right combination of symbols and find me across a million wires. You close your eyes and take a deep breath before letting your eyes move across a row of glyphs trying to understand and then when you catch your eyes glazing over the words you take another deep breath and realize that yet again I know exactly how you feel. You take a minute to think about that before using the links on the right side to choose previous (or possibly future now) entries to read or reread. Enough other pieces to help you grasp the idea that strangers can be friends, that someone you've met and probably never will know really are listening. That they do honestly care, that they do know what today did to you and how yesterday impacted you so greatly that you'll still feel it tomorrow. Which is exactly why you should click the links to the right. Right now. . .

Gold Frame Worthy

I love your pineapple-stained laughter and the way your cherry tainted smoke fills the air even when you're not here. Your ivy painted eyes and abnormally radiant smile bring memories captured on film to life when Sleep forgets to come for me. Than God the gram cracker teddy bear you gave me makes dreamless nights just a little bit easier to bare - like the radio was once able to soothe the pain of a summer love's autumn heartbreak or the cleansing rain of winter trying so desperately to form a blank slate for spring's Louvre showcase. You're here beside me tonight but you won't be tomorrow, so in case you haven't realized it your details make you beautiful and your beauty brings out the very best in both of us.

Waiting for Life to Begin

There you go again capturing the smile of an angel on film, the voice of the wind on tape, the memory of hope on demand. You're a soul in love - real, true, honest love; it's the kind of love millions wait entire lifetimes for. Capture their beauty the way Di Vinci caught Mona Lisa and play them back like Beethoven's symphonies. Remember this the way you remember the feeling of flight as you jumped from the swing set when you were little, like your first kiss, like being the ruler of the world when you turned  eighteen; remember this, it'll do you well someday. Let the words flow from your mind the way water rushes over rocks and down hill, ask if there's anyone else out there to prove your point as tears fall and you swear that their beauty still puts heaven to shame.

Coffee Stained Applications

Everyone's had a few bad days; you know, the kind of day where you spill your coffee on your plaid pajamas, then get toothpaste on your shirt before getting stuck in traffic and receiving curious glances when you walk into the building late; and no one blames you for any that so long as you understand it's simply human nature - everyone's had a few bad days. Then there's the good news; days like that are almost always followed by better days; those are the days you wake up on time with a smile on your face, where the person ahead of you pays for your coffee, then they compliment your shoes before you go home to find the dishes done and a note on the fridge that reminds you that you are beautiful and the person you love will be home late but they'll bring pizza back with them in case you fell asleep on the couch watching T.V. again - those days that aren't excellent, but they manage to be great anyway.

The Truth

At least today this sentence made you smile because it told you that you are wonderful. And this one is even more great, it reminds you that you are beautiful.

Just Waiting

If you walk into the cafe two or three times a week, order your coffee or tea and smile her way while you wait you'll brighten her day. And when you finally have enough courage to say hello or ask how she's doing you'll become her new sunshine in a very cloudy world. Then you'll get up the nerve and offer her a seat with you where you spend all day saying anything and everything that comes to mind. Just so you know, she notices the sparkle in your eye when you catch her reading a new book or hear the way she hums along with the radio as she adds more ink to her already full notebook. She already giggles when you look her way but bump into the counter or someone else just waiting for their order. And on Fridays she's the one who pays for your drink before you're even there.

The Cause 2015

Feb and march 2012 021.jpg close back its about love.jpg

Welcome to the latest celebration of It’s About Love! This project is something very near and dear to my heart, it is a way of helping you find out who it is you really are and how the people and things surrounding you affect and are affected by you. I would love to enlist your support in this years experimental efforts. This year’s celebration will be held on Friday February 13 due to Valentine’s Day’s need to land on a Saturday instead of a weekday ;) Please read the following information and let me know if there is anything more you are interested in as well as where you stand as far as participation.

I ask that you wear as much of one light/warm color as possible and allow for your designs to be on display throughout the day. Take pictures of yourself before the day begins and when the day comes to a close (a group picture would also be appreciated should one be possible). Pictures should also be taken of reactions if possible.

Inform teachers (if they are sticks in the mud) ahead of time. You should ask or invite other friends to take down letters/comments/etc from bystanders of this experiment. They should carry a notebook or clipboard with blank sheets of paper to gather as much information from your day as possible. These Recorders should not take a vow of silence and should stay pretty close to a "subject" throughout the day. .

Once Saturday approaches I ask that you email me your results, pictures, and notes/data as well as your own reactions to the day as soon as possible (before March 15th at the very latest.) I would also appreciate a list of each member of the experiment followed by their role in the day. .

note cards need to utilize both sides

one must read something to the effect of:

To Whom it may Concern,                                (date in top right corner)

Today I am taking a vow of silence in an attempt to discover how my actions and words truly effect myself and those around me. The markings you see on my skin and/or clothing are my only form of expression for today, they are to show the love I have for myself and those who surround me each and every day. As a student I find it is the most important time to find who it is I want to be whilst also putting my environment to use as fully as possible. This experiment is based on the Japanese book "Messages From Water" thank you for your cooperation and have a wonderful day.

Sincerely, Regards, or With Love,
your name
your signature

(suggestions to improve letter are welcome)

The other side of the card is a tally Chart: (you may use symbols, drawings, or words to indicate the emotions but they must be the same ones listed below in the same order -please)

Please take a moment to mark the emotion(s) you felt when you saw and/or learned of my experiment:

Delight
Joy
Confusion
Anger
Sadness
Neutrality

Step One

Someday you'll be giving your heart to someone new and run into left over shrapnel from my heart within the mass. You'll find threads from my delicately braided soul and think twice before brushing them away like the remnants of golden fur from petting the neighbor's dog. There's going to be someone new who is going to find traces of me everywhere, they will probably ask why you held on for so long. When they point out the lipstick on the sheets, the perfume that won't go away, and the sharpie on the wall surrounding your heart you'll look at them, sigh, and answer, "That's what first loves do to you. Even when it's puppy love or purely physical. Firsts always leave their mark." If they don't get it don't waste your time.
